Mixed reality has two definitions that relate to what we do at The Garage. The first is a term coined by Microsoft to describe Windows Holographic. Read more about that here: Why Microsoft HoloLens
The second definition of mixed reality relates to a unique way of viewing someone in VR from the outside world. We have modified the VR Lab to enable mixed reality videos. Through the use of a green screen, video camera, third Vive controller, and some software, we can display a VR game on a regular screen, with the actual person playing the game overlaid onto the image. This video by Valve shows Vive mixed reality very well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYfNzhLXYGc[caption id="attachment_160" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
